The Government of Canada announced a series of new measures to promote Canadian history. This includes the Canada Book Fund, which will encourage collective projects with a dedicated focus on promoting Canadian history titles through the program's Support for Organizations stream. Eligible projects could include targeted marketing campaigns, online discoverability platforms, promotion linked to awards for history titles, etc.
For 2013-2014, a total amount of up to $100,000 was available for history-related projects. In 2014-2015 and in subsequent years, this amount increases to $200,000. Eligible projects could receive up to 75% of their eligible expenses.
History projects will have the same two deadlines as all other Support for Organizations projects. All other eligibility criteria are identical to the requirements for SFO marketing funding, as set out in the program guide for 2014-2015.
