Urban Aboriginal Knowledge Network Achievement

FNUniv Applauds Urban Aboriginal Knowledge Network Achievement

First Nations University of Canada (FNUniv) today congratulated the researchers involved in the Urban Aboriginal Knowledge Network project, which will be receiving $2.5 million over five years from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, in addition to other grants from other agencies and government departments.

The project, carried out in partnership with the National Association of Friendship Centres, seeks to examine the human development, social cohesion, economic development and civic engagement aspects of First Nations people living in urban environments.

Bettina Schneider, an Assistant Professor at FNUniv, was a co-applicant on the grant application and will be a participant in the project which is being led by Professor David Newhouse from Trent University in Peterborough, ON.
